Code of Conduct and supplier monitoring
Thon Hotels is subject to the same ethical standards as the rest of the Olav Thon Group. Our Code of Conduct sets out clear requirements from our employees, suppliers, and business partners.
Code of Conduct
Our Code of Conduct underpins Olav Thon’s vision, aims, and values. This document describes the group’s ethical standards, and provides a framework for what we consider to be responsible business practice. This is crucial for all involved – our employees, our guests and clients, our partners, suppliers, business partnerships, and society as a whole all benefit from the Code of Conduct, because it is based on the understanding that respect and trust are fundamentally important when running a business, both today and in the future.
For the full Code of Conduct, please see the Olav Thon Group website.
Supplier monitoring
Every year, the Olav Thon Group orders goods and services worth between NOK 3-4 billion. The group thus has an enormous responsibility as a consumer. Responsible consumption and ordering have become increasingly important in today’s global marketplace, and our organisation strives to ensure that we do our bit by taking the following steps:
- Following a strict ordering policy that demands responsible consumption and ordering practices.
- Requiring our suppliers and subcontractors to comply with our standard conditions, which demand that they be aware of issues pertaining to human rights, working conditions, the environment and anti-corruption efforts, and act accordingly in their business practices.
- An annual evaluation of selected Olav Thon Group suppliers, with emphasis on their commitment to ethically and socially responsible business practices.
